Last week, Karen's dad came for a visit from WA. The highlight was a day at the Tiger Woods Chevron World Challenge golf tournament. This is a pictures of us with our passes around our necks before we left.
It was so cold that day. I had five layers on, but we had so much fun. It's neat to see the professionals up close and personal. We left around 2:00 and went to The Hat in Simi Valley for lunch. They have the best pastrami sandwiches and fries with brown gravy. That night, we went to the Christmas concert at church which was really nice. There has been so much snow in Tacoma! It's highly unusual. So, last Saturday, when Dad was supposed to fly back, Mom called that morning and encouraged him to get an earlier flight since another storm was coming in that night. It's a good thing he got the earlier flight because his original flight and subsequent flights for quite a few days were all canceled. He may have had to drive to San Jose with us for Christmas!
Last Monday, Brian and I had our own special "Christmas." We usually try to have one with just the two of us
every year. 
We did various appetizers for our dinner and opened most all of our presents under the tree. The
n we watched the movie Elf. Brian had never seen it before.Tuesday, we both had one last day of work before the holiday. When Brian got home that night, we got in the truck and started our drive north to San Jose. When we got to Castaic, the five freeway was a parking lot. We got off and took the 126 over to the coast. That was a smooth ride. Poor Brian had so much coffee in him that by the time we settled down into bed at 3:00AM, he couldn't get to sleep!
Christmas Eve was a nice day with family. Brian's brother and sister also came. All of the sudden, Christmas day came along and we had a wonderful time together. We ate lots of goodies and opened fun presents and played games and lounged around. We hope you all had a nice Christmas too.
